I. Choice of Specialty

II. Eligibility
1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health;
2. The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:
Be a Bachelor degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the Master’s programs.
 
III. Deadline for Application: June 30, each year
 
IV. Registration Date: Early September (according to the Admission Notice)
 
V. Application Materials
The applicants must fill in and submit two copies of each of the following application materials:
1. Application Form for Foreigners Wishing to Study at Tianjin University, China (filled in by typing in Chinese or English, pasted with a recent photo); ( click here to download the form)
2. Notarized certificate of the highest diploma. If applicants are university students, they must provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date, the original certificate should be provided after admission. If applicants are employed, a proof of employment is to be submitted with the application. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English, the original and a copy must be submitted;
3. Notarized copy of the academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English;
4. A study or research plan not less than 800 words written in English or Chinese. All applicants must submit a study or research plan for the study period in China; ( click here to download the plan)
5. Two recommendation letters: Applicants need to submit two recommendation letters in English or Chinese from two professors or associate professors; ( click here to download the letter)
6. Applicants for art studies are requested to submit two sketches of the applicants’ own works;
7. Photocopy of passport;
8. HSK certificate, a minimum requirement of HSK 4 (Score 180 or above) for applying science and engineering or HSK5 (Score 180 or above) for applying liberal arts; If the applicant’s Chinese proficiency has not yet met the requirement of admission, he/she can study Chinese Language at Tianjin university for one year and obtain the required certificate of HSK; Applicants who want to join in the programs taught in English must submit the certificate of TOEFL (Score 80 or above) or IELTS (Score 6.0 or above) (Not required for native English speakers); Applicants who don’t have one should submit an English Level Certificate or a self-introduction video which should be recorded in English for 3-5 minutes in duration.
 
9. Applicants who are not in China at present must submit Certificate of Non-Criminal Records.
10.Applicants who are now studying in China must submit Photocopy of Visa and Transfer Certificate from your present school in China.
The applicants need to mail all above application materials to: Admission Office, School of International Education, Tianjin University. Application materials will not be returned regardless of the result of application.
 
VI. Admission
1. The application will not be processed if it is inconsistent with the recruitment requirements or the materials are incomplete.
2. We will review all the application materials, and admission is based on merit. We will send the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) to the final successful applicants.
 
VII. Graduation, Completion and Conferred Degree
1. Students will be conferred a Master Degree and awarded a graduation certificate after they have fulfilled the credit point requirement, completed their graduation thesis and satisfied their degree requirements in the stipulated period of time.
2. Students who do not qualify to graduate will receive completion certificate; Dropouts will receive learning certificate.
 
VIII. Fees (RMB)
1. Registration Fee: 420
2. Tuition (per person per academic year)
General Major: 24,900 (instructed in Chinese) 30,000 (instructed in English)
Architectural Major: 31,000 (instructed in Chinese) 39,000 (instructed in English)
MBA: 55,000
Tianjin University shall reserve the right of tuition and fees modification. The fees can’t be returned if students transfer or drop out of school.
3. Medical Insurance Fee: Foreign students who study in universities in China must buy the medical insurance offered by China Ping’ an Insurance Company at the same time. The insurance duration is for at least six months and 600RMB for each person per academic year.
4. Other fees such as traveling fee, learning materials fee should be paid by students themselves.
5. Accommodation

 
 
 
 
Note: International student’s dormitory on campus must be booked beforehand. Self-funded students may find their own living accommodation off campus, but they must register to the local police station within 24 hours.
